BJ - I upgraded to the fz5 from the fz1in April and was immediately impressed with the added detailas well asthe much faster autofocus response. (I wassomewhat negatively impressed initially with the af accuracy vs the fz1. Thishas gradually become a non-issue.) You will find the fz5 a very pleasing experience and quite a significant leap forward from the fz1.

Fred, thanks so much for your reply. I have been trying to figure out how to contact you to ask for your opinion on upgrading from the FZ1 to the FZ5, and I truly appreciate your response here. Now I'm about ready to place my order .
