Hello all,

I saw this card few days ago at a computer show, is this card okaywith the FZ5?, (I know thefz5 don't need 150X), but, anyone tried it ?,

any risks of image quality being degraded byusing the 2GB instead of 2x1GB?? your opinions are much needed as I think the 2GB give us much more freedom.

thanks

dlan...i think that would be overkill. I have a FZ20, which is a 5 MP camera, and it needs a max of 60X. Anything beyond that would be something that you aren't using anyway.

As to the option of buying a 2 GB card...why not buy 4 512MB...or even 2 1 GB. That way when something goes wrong...you have a spare. Also you don't lose the entire group of pictures from a trip because one card got messed up. Cards are bound to mess up sometimes, why risk a 2 GB card.

my 2 cents

It is overkill but the 2 gb cards have been reported to work with the FZ5 and Transcend is a good card so I would think it would be fine and no it will not hurt a thing.

I keep waiting on a good price to get a couple for the FZ30.

My FZ5 manual says that the limit is 1GB, but am not familiar with reports of 2GB cards working like Gene mentioned. Unless you're shooting long movies, I'd think 1GB cards are more than enough. Besides, they seem to be arond the sweet spot in terms of price and capacity.

So far as I know FZ5 using FAT16 to format the card, meaning it will not able to format up to 2G, max will be 1G. Yes if you insert 2G card it will work, but you can store up to 1G data only. Please correct me if I was wrong

Check below link:

Look for SD/MMC card info.

Now thats interesting its not much good if it can not be used to its capacity.

If I remember the FZ10 said its capacity was 256mb but that was not correct.

I am hoping someone canshare their experience with the 2 gb cards with any and all of the FZ cameras..

Someone at dpreview just reported that FAt 16 goes to 2gb.

Don't shoot me I am just the messenger

This should cover it all
