Received one of the replacement batteries from Butterflyphoto and found it to be identical to the Panasonic battery in shape and size. However also found it to be 7.2 v and 1000mah ! The factory battery supplied with the camera is only 710mah. This should result in more pictures etc before having to change battery.

So far this has been the best, longest lasting battery I've used in the FZ30 ! Maybe you just got a bad one !?
