God gave me a gift. I see the finished picture before looking thru the viewfinder. I am an old film guy and still stingy with my shots; I usually get it right the first time and it still surprises me. The FZ10 is my liberator, from off position I can turn on zoom focus and capture in 5 seconds. Candids are an instant in time I could never do this with my Nikon film gear. Often the shot was gone before I was ready.

Jerry I agree with you on the Power Zoom / versus the FZ30 zoom ring,
with my camera grip method I have very good control over the camera and for a fast street shot framing / zooming with the powerzoom is quicker.....

OTOH most users are happy with the FZ30 zoom and non extending lens and zoom retaining its settings when powered down.
