The first shot is lovely. The light and colors are excellent. In the second photo, there are too many shadows in the front part of the flower plus a bright green highlight in the background, and there are several brown spots on the flower that detract from the overall effect. Again, the first shot is well done.

Beautiful roses although the little defect do detract from them. Roses are so sensitive to moisture those types of spots are not uncommon. Sometimes even the most beautiful roses need a little help are usually not to hard to fix with a little PP.

The first shot is a beauty. Very nice dof and lighting. Did you just get the fz1? It's a great camera.

Have you looked into getting a 55mm hoya r72 ir filter? ~$30 ebay buy now. A whole lot of fun with the fz1! See some recent fz1/r72 ir shots at http://www.ishots.net/infrared/ir91105/

Thanks Fred. I've had this little jem for a few years. Just thought I'd share the pictures here. I posted these over at DP when I took them a month or so ago. I'm actually thinking of replacing it soon.

I like your IR shots.
