Wow! This is one Cracker Jack shot and the butterfly is a beauty. It's an American Painted Lady which looks just like the Painted Lady except the Painted Lady has foursmall "spots" on the hind wing rather than the two large spots. I think butterflies make such nice photo subjects.

Very nice photo, Squirl. This is really the best butterfly photo I have seen in this forum. How do you get them to pose? We do not have much butterflies in my area, but whatever little there are, they just do not sit at one place for more than a fraction of a second.
