Got a real nice deal ($13 delivered)ona mint condition55mm Minolta #2 achromatic close-up lenson ebay. At +4 diopter, it focuses atapprox 10" from the subject. The first two shots were at 12x with ob flash. The third at ~5x without the flash. It's been raining more or less continuously for the past week on the East Coast (USA) and today was no exception. Maybe tomorrow I can take it out in the sunshine. These are resized only.

FZ5 12x w/ Minolta #2 close-up lens and ob flash. The outside diameter of the ring is 1cm.

John -I thought of you and the other hard core 2megaphiles (I used to be one myself!) when I saw those tiny fibers so clearly rendered even on a resize. Now I'm a 5megaphile waitingforan iso upgrade.
