I decided to have some fun. I posted bunch of photos of todays train charter in Color and converted to 16 bit Graytone.
I think I am going to try to get the firebox glow tonight when they come back.

Hi,

I used the color photograph (of the one on top) from the site and converted it into BW. I think you simply changed the mode to Grayscale, maybe using Photoshop. If you use Photoshop, you should use the Channel Mixer to convert images to BW, which gives you a lot of control. As you can see, the image now has more contrast, and better tones.
