This guy only approximately 1 - 1,5 inches long, might be a young dragonfly, they are a lot and very easy to find here in my place, and they are not as shy as their much bigger brother.

no PP, I think I have pushed the standart wide macro limit of the fz5 with added a few zoom, 3cm, -2/3 ev, auto WB, vivid mode.....so on. I know next time I should use the macro lens, guys..

Very good image, dragonflies talk to me too! I love how they smack their lips. I still haven't figured out what they are saying.

Hi dian,
don´t know what they are saying, they are closer to the eyes than to our ears :-)
You told me that they are not shy (some time ago), maybe you are right!

I must be scary because they won't sit still or come near me. Very good shots especially for no add on lens.. And I hope the dragonfly gets the wormoff your face.

Seemolf, don't get me wrong; this is a great pic.....but it's freaking me out. The fly, plus the little worm or whatever it is.........I mean, how do you set a shot like this up???? It's just plain weird.

Hi corcoj,
the setup is quite easy:
take one of these last warm days, visit a sunny spot where tired dragonflies (look at the damaged wings) are playing around and search for an elevated place for a rest.
....and have a special assistant (my wife) with you, knowing that small caterpillars and DFs are not dangerous!
In this case this landing might not be a single event:

But I used a close up lens (mcon 40) to get some distance. At a distance of 3 cms I would have had shadows of the lens.
So special thanks to dian for her results!
..... but I think there is a perfect fit to the theme: dragonface!!
