I could not get these two to land on a pretty flower they liked the warm concrete so I had to take what I could get.

The drab background only enhances the beauty of the butterflies. Nice capture.

Very nice photos. The rock makes an interesting background texture against the wings and the wing textures are nice and clear. Also, I agree with Raghu that the dull color of the background helps to emphasize beautiful butterfly colors.

Thanks Raghu and LadyhawkVA, I appreciate your comments. Butterflies are a favorite of mine unfortunately I don't see a large variety if them.

Both of them are beauties and the pictures are lovely. You got such nice detail and I like the rocks too. What camera are you using?

Thanks Tiger and bejoweth. I am using the FZ15 with a Nikon 6t. Sometimes I stack my TCON-14B on the 6t which increases my working distance with little or no loss of detail.
I believe I was using that setup for these photos because I can stay a little further away from the butterflies.
