Hi.

I'm thinking on buying a decent macro lens for my fz5. I have a cheap +3 diopters and i guess i realy get what i payed for. (not that bad 'thoght) :-)

Now i'm thinking on a real macro lens, and i'd like to know what do you guys advise. what are the advantages adn disadvantages of a raynox 250 over a nikon 6T ????

Also i live in Europe. Any idea where to buy this lenses on-line in europe?

thanks!

The +8 diopter dcr250 is an excellent lens but it'sextemely shallow dof and short focus distance (~5" or 12.5cm) make it difficult to use. The +4 dcr150 has a greater dof and focus distance but like the 250 will vignett below ~3x. A +3 diiopter lens such as the nikon 6t or 4t (same as 6t but w/ 52mm threads and a little less expensive) is the better choice, IMO. Some other +3 are the oly b-macro and mcon40. They are more expensive than the nikons but have 55mm threads so there is no need for a step ring. Another good macro lens is the +4 diopter canon250d which comesinvarious thread diameters including 52mmand 58mm. You also may happen on a +4 diopter minolta #2 55mm close-up, which I beleive are out of production.

I would stay with a +3 diopter macro it gives you more flexibility.
