Thanks for all the great info. Turns out the store where I bought the camera shipped my order before I had time to add the Canon 250D. I guess I'll have to go the ebay way, though I've never used it before...

It looks like 6t's show up on Ebay about 5 or 6 times a month. I got mine at B&H Photo (when it was in stock) with a step 55- 62 mm step ring. I am very happy with it.

If you want the ultimate closeup lenstry the Leica Elpro 2 (a triopter lens) it has a 55mm thread so no need for a step ring. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

This fellow Lothar has an FZ5 with athe Elpro 2 closeup lens. Here is a link to his work. http://www.photo-ex.de/Insects/Dragonflies/

Good luck

Yay

Now I'm waiting for a Minolta close up no.2 55mm in the mail, from eBay. Was outbid during the last minutes on my first try, tried (and failed) to snipe it on my second try, got it on my third. Can't wait to try it out!

Congratulations on the Minolta #2 purchase! Excellent glass and works great with the fz5. Your focus/working distance will be about 25cm (10") from the subject. I would start at about 6x zoom rather than going to full12x right away. Practice on coins or jewelry in bright light and gradually increase the zoom. Looking forward to seeing some photos with it.
