Agreen hopper grew up in our garden.

This is his last visit, it's getting cold now. This animal walked on our window yesterday, his legs are sticky.

technique: FZ5, zoom 1*, no add. lenses, 3cm distance, camera touching the other side of the window (45 degree).

TMO the camera did a good job, the light came from behind!

thanks,

this is just a demonstration of a low budget macro!

We have seen so many 12* macros and macros with achromat/close up lenses.

But I have seen with my mushrooms that there is a good chance to use the 1*zoom macro too - starting with 3cm distance.

12* macros? Is that what most FZ owners take their macros at? I guess I need to learn more about macro photography with these cameras because I have seen some outstanding results here.

12* tele zoom, to be precise.

These are the limits with the FZ5:
12* telemacro - distance 70 cm (manuals:1 m) covering a field of 8*6 cm
1* zoom - distance 3cm (manuals: 5cm) covering a field of 3*2.5 cm

With different zoom settings you will need a close up lens/ achromat, to get that close.
