I just got my wonderful fz5 last week. First thing I did with it when I got it was go into my front yard and take some pictures of flowers I had recently planted. This is one of them.

nice shots, John, especially the second one. i'm curious, though, why you're shooting in 3MP mode with an 8MP camera! kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it? unless you're just trying to minimize file sizes for memory card capacity reasons... i prefer to shoot at max resolution at all times. i can always downsize the image if i need to, but if the original is low resolution, and i want to make a large print, it's tough to get the clarity with interpolation... better to have more pixels than you need, and discard some, than the other way around, IMHO...

The 3MP mode gives more shots and it can zoom 19.1 X, certainly in principle I agree with you.
