To be honest,I know you have some points, and this Sony starts a new era. But I don't think I'll see anyone with a LC1 changing to the Sony....they simply are different kind of photographers...IMHO

I agree with you that not many or if any LC1\D2 owners would go for the R1. However, a lot of LC1\D2 owners have been waiting to see if a replacement cam from Pana\Leica is going to be introduced and a quiet a few of them on the Leica forum are hoping that its a 4/3CCD based digicam with all of the minor issues such as memory buffer size resolved esp. since the LC1/D2 has basically been discontinued.

Cheers

PS

No sign of any LC1's for sale in the UK - the odd one or two that show up on ebay go for as new price so I'd rather purchase brand new.

Yes, I'm also following them on ebay for some time ( am at present time tracking four of them....), they are overpriced (IMO), but they cannot be found newon any store in many countrys... so maybe it is a so good camera that many are willing to pay a higher price for an used one ( most of them are from carefull owners, and are in near mint condition I suppose) and it's seen by many ascollectable...

Regards,

JC
