I haven't been looking at the camera market over the last few years, though I do know that we are constantly getting more camera for our buck.

What is the general trend over the holidays as far as camera prices, the FZ20 in particular. I know that it was out last holiday season, and I'm lookin to get myself one soon. If the price is going to drop by $50 after Christmas though, I think I can wait. Right now the price is around $400. What do you think?

I purchased my FZ20 just less than a year ago from Circuit City for $509 and received a $50 gift card. Thus: $459 and I used the gift card for two camera cases. I am waiting for a good saleon the FZ30 and then I intend to sell the 20. Need a source for the 30!!!

the '20 came outin summer/early fall of 2004. i got mine in November, for $450. will they drop below $400 anytime soon? hard to tell. i think you might be able to get one for a bit under $400 if you shop around, but it'll likely be a while yet before they fall to $350, even the refurbs are still going for more than that. the FZ20 is a darned good camera, so don't expect to pick one up for under $350 unless you find one used at a garage sale... which, frankly, isn't very likely!

Newegg.com hasFZ30's for $565. I seem to recall seeing them for under $550 somewhere. shop around, you can get a good deal.

best prices for FZ20's are still right about $400.

Thanks guys! That gives me an idea of where the prices have been at over the last year or so. The cheapest I've found is $395, so I think I'll keep waiting now that my A60 is alive and kicking

The S2 IS's price is falling pretty fast, but I'm really leaning on the FZ20 side of things just because it looks to be a better still camera (not as good of a video camera).
