Yesterday was such a grey day I decided to try my hand with the black and white mode on the FZ30. I was shooting raw, so I ended up with both b&w and color versions of the pictures. This isn't my usual type of picture, so I'd appreciate some feedback. For this first one, I decided that I liked the color version. There's not much color in it anyway, but the little bit there is seems to make it more interesting to me.

When I looked at this one in black and white, I was disappointed that it didn't capture the feeling I had when I was seeing it live. The color version had too many colors and they were distracting. So I used a bit of photoshop to bring out what caught my eye - I took what I wanted in color and desaturated the rest. I thought it captured the feeling I wanted, but is the color too much (it is what came out of the camera, not touched up at all)?

It's not too much for me. It brought my attention right where you want it.

I love the balloons. Good shot and PP work.

The light tan shade on the buildinglooks just right to me. Showes it's in color and a gloomy day. I love the color in the #2. - Don

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I've tried to take a picture of the tall building a couple of times, but this was the first one that seemed to come out relatively right. Someone at work had shown me how to straighten buildings with photoshop, and this was my first attempt at it. I love Photoshop - it makes pictures like the balloons easy.
