If I had your camera I would get a decent sized memory card and shoot almost exclusively in raw.

Unfortunately the bundled software is nearly useless for raw. If you don't have a recent version of Photoshop you might ask what people are using for raw conversion. Raw is good only if you have a way to use it.

I second the suggestion for using raw mostly. I've only had my FZ30 for a week, but I was tempted to return it after shooting some photos the first day in jpg and comparing them to similar photos taken with my old Sony. Then I tried raw and all the color and detail showed up - the difference is huge in my limited experience. I'm using Adobe Raw converter with Photoshop CS2 and love it.

I got PS CS2 with the lates RAW plug-in. I am set.
