But I'm not sure If any of these will work safely with the fz30. I remember something about trigger voltage when I owned the fz10. I also don't want more features than I need.

I actually have the Quantaray version of the 383. I highly recommend it. Concequently, it recently went missing so I ordered the Sunpak 383 to replace it from adorama since my local Ritz was out of stock of the Quantaray version
