Ivan - Nice demonstration of the effect of aperature on dof. If you want to extend the dof even further, back off on zoom and crop.

Sven - Wouldn't it benice to have that f11 on the fz5?

Ivan, you can stick several pictures in one post if these pictures reside outside steves - but not on your harddisk!
Fred, F:11 would be nice. This is one of the reasons, why I am using enlarging lenses - F:11,16,32 no problem....

I needed some more enlargement and DOF for my amber shots.
So I started to use stacked achromats and F:8 on my FZ5. But I could not get close enough. Reversed lenses were quite good, but heavy and not calculated for closeups even when reversed. I am testing enlarging lenses at the moment (rodagon, componon), the FZ5 stays at f:2,8 (or 3.3 at 12* zoom) and the aperture of the external lenses can be used (f:8,11,16..).
You can see some results in this thread:
http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=23
..and if this is not enough, I am adding a technique shown here:
http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=23

All this is beyound +10 diopters, a very special theme.
kind regards
Sven
