Desert plants are very beautiful ... that is when they flower... its to advertise themselves to the bees and the birds.
This Cactii is soon to flower but its lookin decidedly odd atm

A flower emerges minutes after my first shot and many more to follow.
The Cactii store a lot of nutrients.

Yes lopsided the light source is mostly on the LHS > Nth strong in Melbourne.

Really? He's soft? The only ones I've run into have been the other kind (usually when I'm not watching where I'm walking). I LOVE the flower - so spectacular!
