I'm considering a purchase of the FX8 but I have a question. There is a button to select the stabilization mode (1 or 2 or none). Once selected, does the camera retain your choice in memory for every subsequent shot? Is it retained even when the camera is turned off and on again. Or must it be pressed and selected prior to taking every photograph?

Thanks very much for your help!

At the FZ3, the selection is made in the menu, and the camera retains it (as well as all other settings) even when you remove the batteries. I suppose it's the same with the FX8.

Thanks for the reply. Since the FX8 has a separate button (rather than a menu item selection) for stabilization, I wonder if it works differently.
