Tried to get some decent shots of ducks in flight but had to settle for them raising up in the water and flapping their wings! Jim

ducks fly faster in level flight than any other bird... no wonder you had a hard time! you'd need at least 1/1300 to have any hope of freezing their wings, and even with that red-dot set up, they're past you so fast, it's hard to react and get the camera up in time, much less set the zoom and focus!
