Like I said, it's summer down here ... so pls excuse the, um, nature of the shot! I've been hunting for an insect that would sit still long enough - and these two were the first that weren't moving off in a hurry. It's clear to see why :shock:

Anyway, here it is ... inspired by Cy (tchuanye), squirrel, jim and the gang!

thanks gene ... the first of any real insect macros I've managed to shoot. this one had funny lighting but I've never been so happy to see 2 flies in my garden before :-)

shame, those poor flies left after a few minutes of intense scrutiny - what's happened to the right to privacy around here!?

fz30 + canon250d close-up lens ... no flash

hehehe Jim, you're right! we have an awful time trying to get the flies out of the house though - and seeing things like this close up makes it even worse when you see them landing on your food when it's just come out of the oven. or anytime, actually.

no insects are safe in our garden anymore ... :|
