Here's a pix of the Karnesborough bridge. Some people on flickr say it looks like a painting....but it's a pix. I shot in raw then post processed using RawShooter Premium.

Maybe you have too much PP it (Noise reduction)?
I agree it has something of a painting, but it is great and maybe also for that reason...

Yes, it sure does have a painting feel to it. Gorgeous by the way. How much and what kind of PP did you do?

I shot in raw mode. I metered on the sky so the bridge was dark. I used rawshooter premium for PP. I used fill light to lighten the bridge. I moved the levels a little & boosted vibrance by a small amount.

Noise reduction within the camera was set at "standard" & I didn't use any other noise reduction software.
