Finally managed to get a decent photo of a squirrel today.

Love the tail on this squirrel.

One the way home I had the luxury of riding instead of driving. This sunset came out reasonably well, considering I took it out the window while on a Los Angeles freeway (going about 30 mph, not too bad for a Friday night!).

When I looked out the other side of the freeway I noticed that the full moon was rising.

It's too bad that there are power lines on both sides of the freeway. But otherwise, it was a great day for photography.

mtngal: very cool squirrel pics; I like them. I totally understand what you mean by power lines always in the way. When I have gone out or stopped on the side of the road or highway I always see @%!% powerlines right in the way. Sometimes I have taken what I thought was a good sunset, etc. and upon downloading it to the computer have seen them in the picture.

Nice pictures Mtngal, Where did you find an LA freeway where you go as fast as 30mph ? :-) Also a little Photoshop would take care of those power lines ! Jim

That squirrel sure looks cold - our well-fed squirrels wouldn't know what to do in weather like that.

Ah, the lovely LA Freeways! We're pretty lucky - our commute only occasionally resembles a parking lot - there are far worse ones! These 2 pictures were taken in the Newhall Pass area.
