As PMA 2006 is due in just a few weeks in Florida I thought I'd raise the topic on what we may see from Pana:

1. A Pana 4/3 DSLR - perhaps two different models/versions. Will we have IS in the camera body or in the lenses ? What about lenses will we see low-mid quality "Leica" branded lenses ? obviously they will be of a higher quality than the std Canon and Nikon kit lenses. Will it have a high res EVF and thus live preview?
2. An FZ6 replacement - lets hope they dozt go for MP over sensor size+lens quality+image quality and do increase the EVF/LCD to FZ30's 256kpixels, a flip LCD and may be even RAW.
3. Rumour of an LC1/Digilux 2 replacement on the Leica forum. No idea of what specs we'd see for this cam - I'm assuming it'd be the same Summicron f2.0-2.4 lens but paired up with a slightly larger sensor, which would have to be a 4/3 as Pana don't manufacture anything larger than the 1/1.8". This time the cam also has IS unlike the LC1.

Is anyone likely to go to the show in Feb ?

Cheers

Harj
