Yes, I did read the manual.

Yes, I did roll the knob while looking at LCD.

Yes, I was on playback mode.

No magnification of image occurred.

Hmmmmm...

Any ideas?

I thought I was just an idiot when I had the same problem... maybe you have the same problem and perhaps it's a common mistake, or maybe there's something wrong with your camera and I am actually an idiot.

It took me a couple days to realize there were actually two knobs. I knew only of the one to change shutter speed, and since that and the arrows didn't zoom the pictures, I thought that it couldn't. I then found the aperture knob at the front of the handle. The camera began to make sense after that.

Kreciu, I don't understand your first question. "Magnification in for eg. auto mode"?

On the second question, you can zoom into your picture up to 8x I think. You get the layout of 9 pics, then 16 pics, and then 25 pics when you zoom out past 1x.

Dufus here (me!...checking in...

Geez...what can I say...

Zoom in/out with playback and aperture priority can be done when you move the FRONT knob below the shutter!!!

That's a 'firm, Corpsy (means affirmative = I got it).

Corpsy...I owe you a lunch if you are ever in town!

Sign me...

"Digcamcan Dufus" :?

Are you kidding?!
Have you ever had a look on that manual that came with your cam?

Hahaha, you made my day Sorry folks, but I can't help it. No offence!
I would've wanted my money back, if that wheel was missing.

I glanced through the manual when I first got it, but there were just too many modes and features. Come on, baby mode?!

The only digital camera I'd ever used that even had a knob was my Digital Rebel at work, which only had one. It never occured to me to look for another knob, and when I glanced through the manual, I guess I just thought I was seeing illustrations of the same knob.

Digcamfan, don't know if I'll be in your neck of the woods, but I suppose you could photograph a sandwich and send that to me. Be sure you use food mode.
