Went to a park to shoot. First time been there. Walked around and found several types of flowers, and plenty of yellow butts...which I never had the chance to shoot as they were always flying! So mainly took spiders.

Appreciate any critique pls. Thanks!

Good question. I am not too sure. Sometimes, for some insects, when I take with the flash, they do not respond at all. Sometimes, a few of them do. I thing they respond more to my movements than anything!

Hi there Everyone

Fantastic Pics Especially the one with the big eyes.

I have just bought a Mcon-35 Macro lens to go with my FZ20 and I have got A Nikon 5t on the way and have been looking out for a 6t but they seem quite scarce.

Did you use a Tripod or did you take the shots handheld.

Reason for the questions is that I have had the FZ20 for a while now and I'm just getting into use add on lenses and so far i'm not having much look.

What would be the best external flash to use for these kinda shots or should i say what was the flash you used.

Once again Excellent shots.

many thanks for any info

Mark

These shots were taken at handheld, BUT, basic handholding techniques for camera still applies....e.g. tuck in hand, controlled breathing, and one method I use is to push the camera away from me with the strap tensioned to my neck to keep it steady. also, there is a minimum shutter speed that can be handheld. I can take maybe up to 1/40s but thats only occasionally. Some can hold even slower. But try to use as fast where possible.

any flash will do. I am using FL-28. As long as the power can be adjusted, that will be good. There is no TTL in pana system, so no super duper flash is required.

Thanks tchuanye for the info.

I have been out today taking a few shots but nothing much good came from it, but it early days yet .

Have been looking for a flash on ebay and seen a few Vivitar flashes which they say are good powerful flashes so if they go for the right price i might slap a bid on.

and a couple of FZ20 users say they use them and work fine. I guess its like everything Trial and error.

I am still searching for Nikon 6t have seen it on Amazon for £70 which sounds pretty good to me. I hear its a much stronger Macro lens then the Mcon 35.

so the search continues

many thanks

mark
