Is that ACTUALLY taken in the wild ? I have heard they fly wild there and are a nusiance is that true ?

I can't get over the fact that was shot in the wild. Like ducks and Geese here I guess ?
Standing on my deck, I shot thatCockatoo from about 15 feet. If I tempt them with some seed I can get them so close they will literally eat out of my hand. . That is not recommended because the beak of a Cockatoo could take your finger off no problem. I can have twenty birds in my yard at one time.

I left the front door open one day and a Cockatoo wandered in!

I have a couple more close up shots which I will post soon.

Cockatoos in the wild?

In droves some days!
For example, on Hamilton Island (off the northern Australian coast) you can't avoid them even if you wanted to... They are lovely birds, and very clever, but when one gets inside and rips up the furniture looking for food - then their ingenuity does look quite as 'cute'!

I keep on meaning to take more cocky photos during these warmer months - they are great subjects- even though I have taken a fair few picsnot long ago

(eg here's a diving bombing cocky I took with my FZ20 about amonth ago...) image levelled and sharpened in PP
