- "joystick"
- still sporting a Leica lens (thank God!!!) and OIS (masseltoff!)
- hopefully a better CCD? Let's wait and see ...

not bad but the new LCD won't kick butt; don't like placement of the EVF; higher ISO only at smaller image sizes (who needs 'em anyway?)

I don't think I'll trade my fresh FZ5 in for the FZ7 - would be too expensive for me at first anyway.
another feature ISO 1600,

I agree with Trooplewis, they should name it as FZ6
One thing, although the camera has 6MP, but the sensor size still 1/2.5", so the question now with higher ISO not sure it will produce more noise :?

- no remote release?!

- no external flash!!!

some minor improvements.... [video :-)], semi manual focus

some draw backs: EVF in the middle!

They needed one year (!) to change some real bad aspects of the FZ5.

- But I need a better resolution on the EVF, LCD

- twistable LCD, or EVF

- Less noise

- better quality

- 55mm metal thread out of the box

- change battery and SD on a tripod ???

...

So I stay with the FZ5 and change to a completely different camera lateron.

Sven

Looking at the over all changes i think most of them are good but I think the must haves for any one to say upgarde from the FZ5 should have been:

1. Tilt/swivel LCD
2. A High Res EVF
3. RAW
4. Reposition the SD card at least.
5. Manual ring would have been nice or jog dails but some of the LX1 guys say the joy stick does work.

:-) :O

dpreview states: When you focus in the Manual Focus mode, not only the focus distance but also the DOF (depth of field) according to the zoom range and aperture is displayed

i have an fz30, but if this camera was around 3 months ago i think i would have gone with it; i really like that it tells you the DOF according to your current zoom and aperture, if that is in fact a feature. the other things this camera has are the 60 second time lapse, and 680 resolution @ 30fps video, which is basically everything that made me buy the fz30 over the 20 or 5, all at a MSRP of 399???? i wonder if they're going to use the new sensor technology to achieve such a low starting price point, that price should blow the competition out of the water.

Perhaps a lil' brother FZ6 will come along shortly like the FZ4 and FZ5, which would explain not calling this one the FZ6.

Makes me think that it may be time for a new FZ in my lineup??? The FZ1 is fantastic and the FZ3 I had was even better at most things than the FZ1. Hmmm...I'll have to wait until they come out and go hold one I guess.

That's what I was thinking when they called it the FZ7.

If the FZ7 had a remote control (or available one) I would buy it immediately. Seeing that it doesn't, it looks like I'll be deciding for a while longer...
