well, i still have my old Sony 4mp camera that I'm using, i've been waiting for a new camera for months, so i can wait a little longer for the FZ7. The distributor I found it online is also showing new cameras from Panasonic, all with possible in-stock dates of 02/10/06. From there, who knows where it'll go next.

FZ7
Panasonic Digital Still Camera - 12x Optical Zoom. 6.0MP Compact Design Optical Image Stabilizer, Venus II Engine

LX01
Lumix 6 Megapixel Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom & MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer, 2.5" Diagonal High-Resolution LCD.

LS2
5-Megapixel Compact Digital Camera with MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer, 3x Optical Zoom & 2.0" Diagonal LCD

LZ3
5-Megapixel Digital Camera with MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer, High Sensitivity Mode & 6x Optical Zoom

LZ5
6-Megapixel Digital Camera with MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer, High Sensitivity Mode & 6x Optical Zoom

the LZ3 and LZ5 look pretty good price wise, but I don't think I can drop down to a 6x optical, I'd rather stick with the 12x of the FZ7.

Hi, I have the FZ5 and don't think that the FZ7 is that much better. The Joystick may be useful. The Display is bigger but has a lower resolution. And the manuel Focus? It must be hard to Focus with the FZ7.
The techniquel data are much the same as the FZ5 just some Software improvements.

No you can't do much of anything without signing in and you have to be a reseller to sign up. Oh well. I see that onecall.com has them on preorder for $399 but no expected date listed.

Hi Chowser,
Actually quite keen to buy FZ7 also, but set down by the noise level, even in ISO 200.
Hope you get your FZ7 soon, and can share your view whether should I buy as well
TIA
