I wish Panasonic were to stick with AA's but that is not the case so I'm in the market for batteries.

1. Are the FZ30 batteries specific to the 30 or are they being used in other cameras ?

2. Are there any after market third parties producing the same battery ?

3. What is the going rate for batteries ?

4 Where is everyone buying there batteris ?

5. Is there a place in Toronto I can buy batteries for the FZ30 at a decent price ?

I was at Henry's Camera today and inquired about batteries he quoted me $100.00 Can. plus tax. I did not know weather to laugh at him or walk away.

I can not justify these batteries costing $100.00 plus taxes ?

Bought mine through eBay seller "eCellPhone" - got two for $23.94 (including shipping).

Guy shipped very promptly - best price I could find anywhere. Batteries are perfect as far as I can tell - I've used both in my camera at this point.

He's had a couple "?" on feedback, but I think that is because buyers did not follow his instructions - he uses Andale for checkout, so if you buy from him, be sure to checkout as he specifies (there is an "Andale" button in the auction description) and all should go smoothly.

Hi videosilva,

PM if you want for a good battery recommendation.

They ship free ups ground but may charge to ship to Canada.

I do not identify vendor in this open thread as Steve does not want specific vendors listed in threads.

Be reassured you can find good batts for signifcantly less than $100 CDN.

FZ20 batteries, with a lttle self-adhesive foam packing to stop it rattling around, work in the FZ30.
