On DC Resource!

Can any of you photo experts give me your verdicts on the quality of these pictures?

It seems that there is some "noise" in the shaded parts of the pictures.

I can see what seems to be "purple fringing" in at least one of the photo's.

I thinking of getting an FZ7. I was going to get an FZ5, but I heard that there was going to be a new one. So I thought I would hang fire!

Youopinions would be appreciated.

Colors look similar to FZ30 ones.

Saturation a lil bit higher than FZ10-20, but nonetheless fine.

What I'd have liked to see is high ISO (200-1600) shots in order to check the quality and the useability of these options (which will surely also be included in FZ40)

PS: never experienced such moire effect in my FZ20, however it's also present in other cameras sample galleries

Review and some pictures:

If I read the review correctly they say that if they had to choose compact ultra zoom camera today, they would choose Panasonic FZ7. The worst in the camera is slow autofocus, they do not say if they have tried the fast focus option in the camera.

Hi; This Japanese site has 16 pages of test photographs taken on the new FZ7.

http://it.nikkei.co.jp/pc/news/index...000da&cp=1

It all looks good to me however I am unhappy about the new position of the viewfinder as it seems it would be awkward trying to press your nose against the screen to take your snaps...I never use the lcd for taking my shots on my fz5- only to view what I shot.

take a look at page 10 of that review. To me all the images even the 1600 iso one seem very good! I think I would be happy to use any of them for a small print. It seems like some of the background details blur out on the high iso but many of the feaures are very nice. this gives me high hopes for these modes.
