I never really had much interest in film photography, but since getting a nice digital, I absolutely love taking pictures. I have gotten to the point that I rarely leave the house without my camera. Does anyone else do this?

I just don't want to miss the opportunity for that shot of a lifetime. You know, like if Bigfoot walks onto the street on my way to work, or that random shot of Chuck Norris running through the woods, going out to eat and running into a big celebrity at Taco Bell or missing the opportunity for photographic proof of visits from extra-terrestrials (or was that just my in-laws???:?).

So help me out here. Am I just a geeky, newbie, nerd; or do other non-geek like people exhibit this same behavior?

Hahah yeah, I kinda do the same. Though I don't bring my FZ30 everywhere.... just my FX9. Mainly because I can just slip the FX9 in my pocket and take a shot when I need to. I don't feel like lugging around a big camera case everywhere lol.

Yeah, I also have a coolpix 4800 which is a nice grab and go camera. Guess I have really been bitten. A real problem I am running in to is that I am shooting pics faster than I can catalog them too. I have a back log of a few hundred pics to actually give meaningful names.

My wife, who loves to take pictures, now tells me I drive her nuts with the camera stuff. :? I know I'll be atking it to my jiu jitsu class tonight, see if I can catch any one airborn while we pracitce throws and take downs. And while some of the guys I train with could be honestly mistaken for Big Foot, I have not captured definitve proof yet.

Well, i think that whether or not we take our cameras with us everywhere we go, if you participate in online forums like this one you pretty much fall into the geeky nerd category no matter what!

Yep, pretty well do the same but usually notwith the FZ20, instead Itakea Z700 Kodak which is a little more pocket friendly.

Looks like I am in good company.

About a camera case, it also makes a great purse. Instead of a purse, I now throw all that lady's junk, you find in a purse, in my camera case.

When not on the run, the camera is set up on the tripod at home, waiting for the perfect picture. Just the other night I took 97 pictures of the most beautiful sunset. I could not stop clicking.

I take my Pentax Optio almost everywhere as it fits neatly into my purse or briefcase. It's good for grab shots. I take my FZ20 out fairly often too, usually when I anticipate or plan to do lots of shooting.
