Fz30 has software for creating panorama pictures.
but does the camera helps in creating panoramas while composing pictures?

the canon cameras with stich assist mode does helps in composing panoramic pics and later create a panorama with software provided.

how does the fz30 differ to canon in panorama aspect ?

Canon has a mode to help you taking already well set images.

With Lumix all you have to do is taking the shots trying to have minimum shake and camera rotations and allowing a20% of common area between contiguous shots (both if taken horizontally, vertically or in mosaic).
Also it's better to keep an average exposure (using M after checking the various areas) because Arc Soft Panorama Maker III (in the lumix FZ cd) doesn't do good blending.
Finally perhaps also a fixed manual WB is good, because with other WB and especially AUTO WB you could obtain different colors (sky, land , water) which are boring to correct in Post Processing.
I use the software above (IMO better than Canon 's Photostitch) and when there is no way to go, Autostitch or PTA Assembler (Pano tools, which is hard to use but gives perfect results, altthough you need a lot of time for that).

Ciao Narmer

I thought so, I was born In Pompeii a long time ago!! I have an Auntin sorrento I visit every now and then, so i'm sure I have been there. (photo no 2) I am now a proud owner of FZ30 (only had it 1 week) been waiting for the weather in England tobrighten upso I can go out and tryto improvemy limited photographic skills with the help of this forum and the FZ30. Ihave only had an Olympus MJU 400 so my photography was limited. Will let you know how I get on and maybe pick your Photographic brain. This is my very first photo with FZ30 (what do you think?)
