Just as I was about ready to hit the "buy" button for the FZ30, Kodak announces the z612. It's a 6MP, 12x, image stabilized camera with¬* 30fps video for $399; should be available in April. (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0602/06021704kodakz612.asp)¬*Anybody familiar with the Koday Easyshare cameras who might know how this will compare with the FZ30?

Kodak's webpage has a little more info. Looks like it's not available until May.http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=8824&pq-locale=en_US

Kodak's new camera is more of a match for the FZ7 than the FZ30, 6mp, no hotshoe, no raw.
