I managed to go out today and catch a little sun. Unfortunetly its still too cold to do much, I had numb fingers to prove it.

The settings I used

Contrast STD
Sharpness HIGH
Saturation HIGH
Noise Reduction Low

White Balance Auto
Auto Focus
ISO 80
A mode
8 meg
Quality high ( not tiff nor Raw)

Exposure what +1 I belive its better at the default level in bright sun light but I need to test a bit further to be certain.

I also used a Polorizing Filter

Hope these settings help others

Picture was resized for posting nothing else.

I managed to take a bunch of pictures but only a handfull came out decent, I realize its my fault but I am still having difficutly adjusting the manual focus. What I see when focusing manually and what is produced are NOT the same. On the other hand the Auto Focus seems VERY good.

I will get this right eventually.

Now I think that photo is very nice....... a +1 exposure compensation is unusual to say the least.

Most people use a minus exposure but whatever works for you.

And that photo did work.

The +1 exposure was too much I'll try it at that default setting. Its sunny out today so I may risk freezing my fingers later in the day and try a few more pictures.

Good photo. You caught nice detail and texture in the brick without blowing out the sky into a white mess. Keep shooting.
