The Sunpak 383 is a very good match for the FZ30.

Batterbarn usually ships the same day as your order and notifies you by email when they do.

In the USA delivery is very quick, are you somewhere else?

If your in the USA... B&H is a good place to purchase the 383...

I found the options for external flash confusing, especially since I wanted to use auto mode, and cover a wide area when using a wide-angle converter, but also narrow down the flash angle when using telephoto, and to use slave mode for side lighting. I didn't want any preflash to screw up the slave, and I didn't want to burn out the camera with a high strobe voltage! My dealer had a Metz 34 CS-2, which was what Metz recommended for the FZ30. It works pretty well, with two little fresnel lenses that snap onto the strobe for wide angle or telephoto shots. A guide number of 34 with telephoto lens seems to get light out to 50 feet or so (using manual operation). On wide setting, the flash covers a 28mm zoom field fine. The slave function is nice, producing some interesting effects, and the little slave base piece has a threaded hole so you can put the flash on a photo tripod.*Only niggle is the CR2 batteries required. The FZ 30 is the limiting factor, since it has only one auto setting for external flash, and nowhere to plug a PC cord. I need to get a hot shoe adaptor if I want to hold the flash at arm's length up to the side.

That Metz flash is a good flash also but quite expensive.

But it may be the best option if a slave flash is what your after.
