Ok you guys, with all your "man talk" about cars and planes :? haha. I don't know anything about either one but I gotta say those pictures are fabulous! Great shots JJ!

I have to admit, even though I don't know much about aircraft (except they go up in the air and they are fast) I do love going to the air shows. I especially enjoywatching the Blue Angels do their thing! What a thrill! Andgetting up close and compfortable to some of those older aircraft is like stepping back into history. I have a very healthy respect for those who can fly these guys.

After seeing your great pics, jj, I'm definately taking my FZ30 to the next air show.

Thanks for sharing

(flutters girly eyelashes)

My favorite is the Oprey. That is one neat looking flying machine.

Teree

Hi all,

After months of indecision I finally ordered an FZ30 a week or so ago. I think the final thing that stopped me going for a DSLR was thinking about the time I spend walking around looking for birds, butterflies - or whatever - to photograph & realising how often I would need to be changing the lens - & getting dust on the sensor ! But also the matters of cost & weight had a significant effect.

The following day I was looking at the Panasonic web site & saw that the FZ50 is due in Sept. So I changed my order - and now I have a long, rather frustrating, wait.

Reading jj glos's thread & looking at his photos to-day has made me very happy with my choice. Well done jj - they are super.

I wonder if somebody can help me with a couple of queries:
1. How do I put my Location under my name on the site?
2. How do I add a photo to a thread ?

Best wishes to all.

Hi Ilex

To add your location to your name, click the My Account button about halfway up the screen on the right hand side (opposite where it says Steve's Digicams on the left) when you are adding a message, then on the Profile button and add your details where appropriate.

To add a picture, click on the browse button, located below the window you type in when adding a message and choose a picture from your hard drive - you will (probably) need to resize in your photo editing software it so that it is doesn't exceed 250400 bytes so it fits on this site.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Tony

Hi Tony,

Many thanks for that very prompt response. Yes, it definitely helps, although I do not have a photo worth up-loading at present.

However, I will have a look through my "funnies" (not my photos) to see what I can find that might give you a chuckle.

I do so hope you are bearing up OK.

Regards, Ilex

Hi there Tony,

Yes, I know that I've been "away" from the forum for quite some time but won't bore anyone here with the reasons!! :?

Just wanted to ask you how you are and how all your treatment's going. I know that your sense of humour and activity here is constant so that's a really good sign :-)

Haven't had time to use my camera that much since my Orlando trip but can say that my "video" taken of the "Blues Brothers" whilst I was at Universal Studios has impressed many people (although I've only viewed it on my pc) - unfortunately it's around 400Mb so I can't see Steve ever allowing that on his site!!!

Anyway, keep up all the good work on this great site - I told you that it was worth starting - a long time ago now!! :-)

Keep smiling,

Raymond

Hi Raymond
Good to hear from you mate, I hope the reasons you have been quiet were not too serious! Yes it is a pity this site won't accept video, I'd like to see it. Just a thought, you could send it to me via http://www.sendthisfile.com/ by joining it and following the on screen instructions, or post it for all to see on http://www.youtube.com/ - just send me the link when you have joined it.

Am due to see my specialist on 14th August, will post after that to let you all know what he says.

Take Care, and watch it on the bends in your M3 (or are you using the Ferrari now? lol)

Hi there Tony,

Nice to see that you've still got that great sense of humour - don't you ever lose it!!

Right at this moment, I'm trying to upload a movie file to you but, as it's "only" 400Mb (!!!!!) I suppose that it will take all night here!

"Unfortunately" I'm still using the "old" M3 but, and not to start an argument here, it's one of the best cars I've ever owned - really!!!

My "congrats" to jj_gloss for those aircraft pics - it would be nice to have some technical info on the pics - what do you think?

Anyway, I'm off for a late dinner here - will post again soon.

Stay Strong Tony - we're all with you!! :G

What sort of technical info do you want, the exif data? All I did was set the camera to sport mode and use the burst facility, everything else was "out of the box" so to speak. I think i would have got better results if I had changed the focus settings but I hadn't read up about that at the time!

Hi there JJ_glos,

Yes, I had thought of the exif as I really liked your pictures - have to be honest too - have never tried the sport mode - you always find new things to try in life, don't you?

And you Tony, what a change of picture - I can only assume you put it here to attract all your lady contributors - am I wrong??????

Anyway, it's late and I have to early rise tomorrow -

Stay strong Tony and thanks JJ-Glos for your reply too.
