Thought I would share some results from the weekend.
Feeling slightly inferior alongside the pros with their massive long lenses and Pro DSLRs atop unipods, I took around 80 shots with the FZ30.
If I learned anything, I learned to pre-focus on the place where the car will be when you take the shot. My best efforts at capturing movement were at a shutter speed of 1/200s. Overall I was pleased with a few shots, four of which I have posted here:

there is very little PP, mainly some slight cropping.
