There price is similar to B&H except sales tax. It is about the same as shipping. Still looking at lens. I am checking KM web site. I did not see them on Ritz web site.

Ritz:

$699: Konica Minolta 5D with 18-70 F3.5 - F5.6 AF zoom lens

$199: Quantaray 28-200mm F3.8 to F5.6 AF Lens

What do you think?

That's about the going rate now for the KM5D.Minolta had a $50 mail in rebate. I don't know if it is still available. Samy's camera was selling them for $649 minus the rebate. I personally got lucky getting the following deal on ebay: The KM5D body (refurbished like new), Sigma 28-70 3.5-4.5 lens, Sigma 75-300 4-5.6 lens, 512 high speed card, large camera bag all for $649 plus $12 shipping, but I got lucky...

How is that Quantaray lens for my vacation? Would 133x CF work well on the 5D or be overkill for the performance?

I think Quantaray might be made by Sigma or maybe Tamron or Tokina. Probably a decent lens. The 133X CF would certainly work well, but I would not spend significantly more on it than like a 60x. I don't think you'd notice a difference.

Quantaray is Sigma.

I did not think about buy.com. I just checked Amazon.com. Buy.com for same kit was $729. Bare camera was $639.
