The Panasonic DMC-FX9 is great except...

I take a picture, it gets saved to the SD card. Camera displays picture on LCD screen. Then, I download the picture to my laptop over the USB. Icolour-enhance the picture using Arcsoft Photostudio. Picture displays fine on my laptop. Then I upload the picture back to the SD cardin thecamera (same file name).CameraLCD is black when I attempt to view this editedfile. But unedited pics still display correctly.

Any suggestions on how to make the editedpicturedisplay on the camera LCD?

Ishould justneed some software to refresh the.jpg code to trick the camera into thinking the edited pic is really unedited.

You have destroyed the EXIF data during the editing. Try to keep the EXIF unmodified - this will do the job.

Yes, the EXIF information is gone. Only today I learned what EXIF means.

Can you recommend free software that will put in some randomEXIF 2.2information into the jpgso that the Panasonic FX9 will once again recognize it?

Thank you

It is not just the exif ...but if you do a save as instead of save for web the exif usually remains.

Also some Photo editors have an option in the preferences to keep or strip the exif.....But the camera will not read a modified file.

Or at least its been reported many times that the FZ cameras will not read a file once its been moved to the computer.

In order to trick the FX9 into displaying a non-EXIF jpg, I want to insert this EXIF data into the jpg (adjusting the width/length and filename accordingly). Can you recommend simplefreeware to do this? Is there any hidden EXIF info that I would need to transplant as well?
