okay, so these weren't shot with my FZ20... sorry to all the Panny purists, but a lot of you have asked me to post some of my results with my new 30D. here are some from this afternoon, my first outing with this beast. i have a long way to go to learn how to make it sing like my FZ20, but i think these aren't bad for a first effort. all shot with a Sigma 80-400 lens,no PP except cropping (most of these are center crops, from 3500x2330 to about half that count, then resized for viewing here)and a bit of sharpening. the cattails in the last one are a bit blown - i haven't quite got the hang of the metering yet... :sadverall, though, i'm pretty happy with it... it looks like the start of a long and happy relationship! :G

Real nice!

But...why did you have to post those here where I can see them? A few months ago I talked myself out of buying a DSLR.

NOW I WANT ONE!:|

Oh wow dude, your getting along real well. Definately got your money's worth.
Might need to see where that dust bunnys at and puff it off of there. You'll be spending more time together than you ever imagined, I'm certain.

That lens works.

Great pics, Squirl.

I fear that in every situation in which you won't be able to take the 30D + Sigma tele, you will miss it, notwithstanding the FZ20 is a very nice cam (I have it).
But dSLR is definitely another world.

The only PP a lil bit of sharpening and cloning out that dark spot (CCD dust)

Beautifully & richly saturated colors.

But as you know the FZ20 is no slouch either.

Hereis a duck (not as colorful) taken with the FZ20

Hi Squirrl

Thanks for posting the shots from the 30D - its good to see pics from the DSLR's. Theyre very nice - good saturation and dynamic range in the colour, crystal clear, no sign of noise anywhere, the shallow DOF is really good and the images are tack sharp from the Sigma - which is a pleasant suprise.

Cheers

HarjTT

:O
