I have had my FZ7 for about 3 weeks. I am a TOTAL digital novice, but I am reading boards and learning bits and pieces here and there. Friday, I went on a field trip with my oldest son to a new (to me) Zoo in town, and I (of course) took my camera. Here are some of my FAVORITE shots from that day (hopefully I can get them to show up here!!!)

This one was taken from a moving sky ride gondola 30+ feet up in the air.

and this one is my favorite animal shot of the day....

Thanks for looking! and thanks for all the help that is offered to us newbies on the board!!

Christi-

Welcome and good job on your first posting. For 3-weeks in, your first shots are pretty good. The first only needed a bit more light (and a more cooperative subject to help show off a bit more).

The Kangeroo could have been a bit better w/more zoom and/or cropping to make it a more interesting composition, IMHO...

The Rhino was good in that you had a better exposure for the details being in a back light. This would possibly have been nicer if you had tried a lower aperture number (f/2.8?) to blur the background more.

The Tortise was very good.

As you continue, try the different camera and EV settings for these problematic lighting opportunities and keep posting!

Hi Christi. I enjoyed the pics and think you're doing a fine job with the new camera. We have a group for FZ1 - FZ7 cameras and would love to have you join us:
