All will be revealed...tomorrow (along with credits).

Yes, true.

No, it is not my photo.

Just this side of a Michelin ZX track of weathered mud?

Whoa, excellent guess Tazzie!

But, it is not a tire track but it is evidence of something else.

And, no, it is not an image created digitally from scratch.

hmmm... "trompe-l'oeil" is French for "trick the eye", or optical illusion, and usually refers to painting techniiques that make the viewer think they're looking at something other than what they are... i'm with Tazzie on this one... it's a painting of some sort.

Given the rendition of the image, it is easy to see how you might think it is a photo of a painting.

But, alas alack, nope...you cannot point a finger at a painting as the source of the image.

Source will be revealed tomorrow or earlier if someone guesses it! :-)

Phonograph record, maybe? There is a wavy look to the "valleys," and they all curve off to the right, like we're looking at something circular (or at least locally round).

Hello seedubs,

Given that this is a digital image, of course, in a way, it was "computer generated". Without electricity, without computers we would not be able to "print" this image on this thread.

Tom,

Yes, it is a "record" of something but not of a phonograph record.

Thank you both for your assessment of the image!

The answer will be shared shortly after 930am eastern time. :-)

Roses to all who offered a guess and doom to all the bugs that infest a rose.

Your clues are here on this thread for you to solve it.

Now that you talk of rose, is it a super close-up of the texture of the rose leaf?
