I' trying to decide which camera to buy and was wondering if this mode is for picture shots only or could you use this for movie mode? I was hoping to record daughters dance recital numbers which are usually around 3 minutes but playback on our 16:9 Mits 65700 tv. Would this work???

Thanks

Not sure if you can but I can;t see why not. Your best bet is for Gene, Boyzo, KD, Tigger, Digicamfam and the other '30 dudes to answer this one.

Cheers

I just checked my FZ30. No option for 16:9 in movie mode.

Oh darn . . . I may have to eventually just fork out the bucks for a digital camcorder with 16:9 ratio but I think they are still pretty expensive.
