Some pretty good macro shots there.

I know it is definitely a "weevil" but without my nature book can not classify it any further.

About how small or big was it. Weevils come in all sizes and colors.

Yes, this one is a weewil, from genus Lixus. I would say that it is Lixus iridis, but since you are in Italy, than it could be some different species.

But most interesting is that their yellow color is form pollen. If you had piceked him up, than he would lost his yellow coloring, and became pretty pale

Thanks, correct identification Cerambyx, at least for the genus, and yes that must have been pollen.

It was not longer than 2 cm
