Theexpansive dof of the fx01 is a treat. This first at 28mm wa from about 10" away from the front blossom. Although it was taken in macro mode, it's essentially out of macro range, thus the entire shot is almost in focus

FX01; f5.6, 1/320s, iso80, 28mm

This one is at 68mm (about 2.5x zoom)exhibiting a much more shallow dof.

FX01: 1/500s, f4.3, iso80, 68mm

These areboth quite good, although I don't particularly care for the street light post in the background of the second shot. Otherwise it is a great shot.

Very nice! I just saw this "little" camera at Compusa and didn't realize just how small it was!

ps...I would be curious how you got the first shot...were you in another tree or in a window?

Nice photos fmoore. Are you saying that because of the macro mode and being out of range it focusedto infinity?

Hi Fred

I like both shots - although like said the steeple in the 2nd does take away from it a wee bit.

Cheers

This post was from back in April when I first got the fx01 and I'm not sure exactly what my point was.As the usermanual says, macro focuses to infinity. It may have been that the front flowersin the 1st shot were too close to focus in normal mode and that macro mode got them as well as the blossoms further back. Whatever it was, I thought it made for a nice dof.
