Sorry if this might have been covered in other threads already!

I'm thinking about getting a macro lens to use with my FZ20. Can someone recommend a good, reasonably priced brand + model number that's compatible?

I love my FZ20, and I'm happy with its stock-lens macro performance overall, but I'd like to experiment with some really close shots.

Thanks!

My favorite with the FZ20 is the Nikon 6T. Its 2.9 diopters with
62mm threads that match my Phayee addapter. I've also had fun
with a Leica Elpro 2 4.9 diopter that I picked up on fleabay for about
$30.00. Most recently I found a nice Sigma 1.6 diopter with 62mm
threads for $15 plus shipping, also on fleabay.

These can also be stacked on top of each other to increase the maginfication.

Here's a link to some other choices.

Thanks for the compliment, it was taken hand held with and FZ20 and 6T macro lens, last summer in the backyard.

With a little practice, you may well surpass my efforts. Having had my FZ20 about a year now, I'm still a novice at photography. This is my first camera that is more than point and shoot.

Thanks for your comments & links, should be very helpful.

Question re: the 6T -- is this lens discontinued? I don't see it listed on the Nikon website.

If it has been discontinued, I'd like to look for another good brand / model that's still current and can be bought new. I um... don't do eBay...

can anyone tell me , does 6t (nikon ) refer to the magnification , ie is a 10 something more powerful?

Also i cant find the 6t for sale (UK GOOGLE)

PS how do you make steves website narrower so i dont have to scroll left and right sooooo much, other sites are fine.

thanks again

Simon

I would refer you back to Rayco's 1st post in this thread. Under the "other choices" link is a table of common lens with the diopter strength (magnification) of each.
